Teach The Teacher Tuesday

This week (14-20th May) marks Education Week in Victoria, a week where everything education is celebrated. At The Teaching Initiative, we first would like to acknowledge our wonderful educators that we have working with us. Without our teachers, Learning Support Officers or Childcare Educators we wouldn’t be here! We appreciate you ❤️

This year’s theme for Education Week is ‘Active Learners, Move, Make , Motivate’, with resources focusing on active and hands on learning, as well as empowering student voice. The Victorian government, in partnership with people and businesses  have put together free curriculum aligned resources that work to support this theme. Available are activity resources that you can implement during the week, or even save for later in the year, there are online events and incursions/ excursions as well as instructional media you can incorporate into learning. There are resources for school aged students, as well as resources for Early Childhood settings.

Something that may also be of interest to our educators in the free PD opportunity around Student Voice. It has 13 lessons, and if you sign up during this week you have access to the course for 12 months for free. We understand that meeting the required PD hours to satisfy the renewal of your VIT can be expensive or challenging to complete, so we love to share opportunities with teachers that can help you meet this quota.

The resources are certainly worth a look. To access the website visit this link

We hope you find something useful!
